Cancer survivor and Master Chef winner Jane Devonshire will join the Being Well Festival to talk about the important role food has played in her health and wellbeing - and prepare her speciallly created menu live during the VIP Lunch.
Jane Devonshire propelled to stardom when she won Masterchef back in 2016 with a menu of winkles and cockles on toast, curried lamb, and rhubarb and custard. The mother-of-four has continued her love affair with cooking, and after finding out her son has celiac disease, she made it her mission to make eating easier for him, and the thousands of other people who cannot eat gluten by launching her ‘Hassle Free, Gluten Free’ cookbook in association with Coeliac UK.
However, Jane’s real strength came from her own cancer journey, which she kept a secret whilst filming Masterchef. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006 and went through chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Then, seven years ago was diagnosed with secondary cancer, which had moved to the liver. However, following successful surgery, she has now been in remission for six years.
The Being Well Festival, which takes place at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry, on 24 October 2019 is a brand new wellness event promoting happier, healthier lives.
